Like honestly, Jeonghan is just so damn pretty (I was scrolling down on Tumblr when I saw his Harley Quinn costume and thought for a split-second that it was a girl before realizing that it was Jeonghan) but at the same time, his personality is anything but. Like honestly, he might look better than most girls I know, he definitely has one of the most masculine personality in Seventeen. For example, in Weekly Idol, he literally slammed Mingyu out of the ring. Then, during this Halloween fansign, the way he pulled Joshua to him in that fancam was screaming “dominant”. Also, when S.Coups and Mingyu were touching him, he didn’t look shy. Rather, he was giving off a “gimme your best shot”-y and lazy confidence sort of vibe. Another would be how good at basketball he is (apparently, he’s one of the best in Seventeen). All these small but numerous demonstrations of his masculinity keeps me from ever seeing him as “girly” or “effeminated” because that really isn’t him. Just the fact that he owns his long hair and gorgeousness shows that he doesn’t give a fuck about the comments attacking his gender.
It’s amazing simply for the reason that traditionally and currently, boys and men alike have these “fragile masculinity” mentalities but Jeonghan has overcome that. His confidence level is goals and it can potentially be the start of a new wave of awareness and acknowledgement of gender expression/roles in kpop.
